Northcote High School is located in Northcote, Victoria on the Traditional Lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. The focus of their Years 7-10 STEM Connections illustration of practice was enabling student agency through environmental action. The school enlisted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for change and has reformed their approach to teaching Design and Technologies through the implementation of their Precious Plastics program and by redesigning their Technologies teaching and learning space. The school focused on building the capacity of staff and encouraged students to become involved in shaping the future direction of learning Design and Technologies at Northcote High School. The Precious Plastics program has been a focal point of the school’s approach to teaching STEM.
