Portfolio summary
This portfolio of student work shows that the student can explain the role of the Australian economy in allocating and distributing resources, and describe the interdependence of participants in the global economy (WS3). The student explains the importance of managing financial risks and rewards and analyses the different strategies that may be used (WS1). The student analyses the roles and responsibilities of participants in the workplace (WS2).
The student can develop questions and simple hypotheses to frame an investigation of an economic or business issue (WS1, WS2, WS3). The student gathers and analyses relevant data and information from different sources to answer questions, identify trends and explain relationships (WS2, WS3). The student generates alternative responses to an issue and uses cost-benefit analysis and appropriate criteria to create a course of action (WS1). The student applies economics and business knowledge, skills and concepts to familiar, unfamiliar and hypothetical problems (WS1, WS2, WS3). The student develops and presents evidence-based conclusions and reasoned arguments using appropriate texts, subject-specific language and concepts (WS1, WS2, WS3).
