This portfolio of student work shows that the student synthesises detailed research and information from credible sources to analyse effectiveness of public health campaigns. They propose comprehensive community responses to the issue of sun safety and personal responses to a peer’s mental health (WS2, WS3). The student demonstrates leadership and cooperation, applies and transfers detailed movement concepts and strategies, and applies criteria to judge and refine their own and others’ specialised movement skills and abilities in handball, soccer, and indoor climbing and belaying (WS4, WS5, WS6). The student critically analyses past and present cultural, environmental, social, emotional and other contextual factors that impact on identities and participation in physical activity by examining in detail the role that surf lifesaving has played in connecting two diverse communities and challenging gender and cultural stereotypes (WS7). The student establishes a range of relevant criteria to comprehensively evaluate physical activity interventions aimed at girls and young women and apply their understanding to propose a school-based initiative to improve fitness and physical activity levels of their peers including the use of social media and community expertise (WS9). They analyse emotional responses such as jealousy and anger and explain how communication, personal connection, honesty and mutual trust can influence relationships and behaviours (WS8). The student can also apply decision-making processes to explain a detailed first aid plan of immediate action to influence their own and others’ wellbeing, taking into account the environment and the limitations of first aid (WS1).
